Coca-Cola is celebrating 100 years of the bottle...in a big way. From a commemorative tome published by the ultra-plush Assouline to the pop-up exhibits around the world (including one at our very own High Museum of Atlanta) there is a lot of celebrating to do.
At Eco Denizen, we are big fans of the recycled and repurposed type of items. Kathleen Plate of Smartglass Jewelry has a Coca-Cola licensed line of jewelry that she makes from recycled coke bottles. The pieces are gorgeous and affordable. And, we happen to carry these one-of-a-kind pieces in our shop. (W can't keep her items in stock...they are that fabulous). Here are a few of our favorites..
These are just a few of these one-of-a-kind Coca Cola jewelry made from recycled glass. Come check us out to see the full collection of these items at Eco Denizen
Along with jewelry, we found some other cool REuses for the iconic coke bottles.. Like this one below.. what a great idea to use the bottles as vases on your wall. Why didn't we think of that?
The coke bottle is an icon around the world and particularly in Atlanta, since the headquarters of Coca-Cola is here. And right now, with the 100 year anniversary, The High Museum has a must-see exhibit going on through Oct. 4, 2015 called "The Coca-Cola Bottle: An American Icon at 100" which "brings together work by renowned artists, designers, and photographers, showcasing the iconic Coca-Cola bottle's outstanding impact on 20th and 21st century visual culture." We have not been to see this yet, but we promise we will be going. It looks too good to pass up.
