Why We Like: Essential Oil Diffusers

City smog, old flooring, new paint . . . whatever the reason we’re keenly interested in improving the air we breathe while inside our homes.  Plants clean the air and so do beeswax candles, but we find one of the quickest routes to better air is through the use of diffusers.  After several weeks of research two electric models rose to the top: the nebulizing diffuser from Aromis and the Scentilizer line from Serene House.

To use a vegetable analogy the Aromis is like eating raw vegetables and the Serene House  is like having cooked vegetables.  What we mean is that even though they both diffuse 100% essential oil quite nicely, the decision will be up to you if you like the oil to be diffused by forced air or with water vapor.

If you want to dig deeper, Aura Cacia has a myriad of helpful information for both the novice and armotherapy veteran.  Here’s an example of one of their helpful hints:

Myth: The way to make sure you are buying pure essential oils is to request “aromatherapy grade” oils.

Facts: There is no universally accepted standard or grading system for aromatherapy oils. Oils used in aromatherapy should be 100% pure, unadulterated, complete oils.

Of course we’re happy to give you a demonstration here at Eco Denizen and we’re all quite happy that our workspace is now filled with the healing and motivating effects of pure, diffused essential oil.

Aura Cacia also has a great guide if you need something specific from your aromatherapy experience:
